What if work would feel completely different?

What if work could be done in a way that it really fulfills you?

We are entering a new age of work, where work will no longer be about survival. For thousands of years we had to fight to fulfill our basic needs. We sought for status and power to secure our standard. This mode of operation will never fulfill us and keep us stuck in a life of fear and tension. To overcome this pain we are, in a way, doomed to consume and on an endless search for small glimpses of happiness in our life. The energy behind this fight approach is still coming from our stone age brain that says “I’m not having enough, I have to fight and accumulate to survive and have a good life”.

We are definitely challenged here to change these limiting points of view.

If we set the fight aside and outgrow these ancient programs, we can create something completely different together.

Our basic human needs are quite simple…

We need a secure and stable environment that nurtures us.
We need variety and choices otherwise we feel bored and limited. We are creators in our nature.
We are social beings and are in need of connection from the first day on we arrive on this planet.
We want to be seen, be needed and feel special.
We want to grow — it is in our nature to learn, grow and go beyond what we’ve achieved before.
We are in need of purpose and want to contribute to the greater whole. Our life has to be meaningful.

Is it possible to shape your work environment in a way that all of these needs are addressed and you are still or even more effective? And what would be needed for this to happen?

What is the goal of agileflow?

Imagine yourself a company as a sensory collective being that is at service for the greater whole. Every part of this being is connected to its surrounding, every part is intelligent, observes, learns and adapts. All parts create together the form and structure that is needed to co-create something even greater. Ever evolving, ever-changing.

Agileflow acts as a vision for this potential and what we all can create together if we choose it. We are able to create nurturing and joyful work environments that fulfill our needs in real-time. There is no longer the need for a postponed compensation of something we’re not getting. We will learn to re-connect to our self and others. We will realize that we all are in service for each other and that in this lies a tremendous potential of fulfillment. Therefore, the urge to fight and accumulate will cease over time. We will leave the stone age programs of survival of our brain behind us and develop new collaborative ways to prosper and take care of each other and our planet.

Let’s experience this potential for collective flow together!

How do we get there?

First you should probably let go the idea that there is a solution, method or a framework, that can do this for you. You are a creator. Use your wisdom and your skills and create it!

However, these three principles will guide you on this journey…

Co-Creation

Effective Co-Creation emerges from a common purpose, a group of people commits to. The focus is on the questions “What do we want to contribute to the greater whole?” and on an individual level “How can I be of service?”.

Hence, we all are creators in our nature everyone is asked to take on ownership of the creative power that lies within each one of us. Co-Creative environments are shaped in a way that everyone can contribute. We create playgrounds (spaces of purpose) that people or groups of people can fill and give them the autonomy to do so.

Continuous Growth

There are infinite possibilities to explore. Why do we end up with the same choices over and over again until we are stuck in a very narrow comfort zone? Curiosity is this natural impulse to leave the known behind and explore the unknown. It is essential for our learning journey and personal growth to try new things. Together we can learn from each other and outgrow what we were a year ago.

The questions we use here are “What else is possible?”, “What can I choose to open even more possibilities?” and “What is the next step to take?”

Connectedness

In the past we lived very disconnected! Our “private self” was separate from our “work self”. We had to wear masks. We hid behind functions and status. Formality killed the collaboration and exchange between each other. We mostly resided in disconnected silos (“departments”) and we are still not able to truly connect to our customers. The agile movement encouraged to interact more and connect more deeply.

Let’s enhance our ability connect to our self and each other. From this connection evolves trust in our collective creator abilities and a secure environment to grow.

The questions you can use here are “Who am I today?” and “How can I connect to others even more without losing who I am?”.

You now have read this. Maybe you were able to feel the potential behind it? Maybe you remember some moments in your life where you did experience flow together with others? This is just a glimpse of what could be.

What are you choosing?

This choice will affect how you see the world, how you connect to others and act.

At the moment agileflow is a vision of a future where we create together what we truly need. In a way it is a guiding star.

You can support it by sharing it with others.
